78 more days!

Okay, so my countdown is a little ridiculous due to the fact that I still have so much time before I leave but hey, can you blame a girl for being a little excited? I just finished a scholarship essay about the Moorish influences in Granada and learning all about it made me 10x more excited. The history is truly amazing.. I love so much learning about it. I also just found the website for the school I'll be attending next year, the University of Granada, Centro de Lenguas Modernas. ( http://www.ugr.es/~clm/indexing.htm if anyone is interested) Let me just tell you, I'm so glad I stumbled upon this. It got me another 10x more excited. I'm currently reading the '8 reasons for choosing Granada and CLM'. Seeing all these reasons makes me feel like I'm already certain I chose the right place for me. Between the University itself, the history, and how it's still a university town, my heart is bursting with happiness right now.

I'm off to go have a pizza night with the family (we're actually all home, living in the same house, for the first time in 3 years... yikes!). Then I'm heading to bed early to wake up at 515 am tomorrow morning for my job. I don't like getting up that early but every time I have to, I keep thinking 'this work day is going to let me go somewhere awesome next year' Therefore, I am more than willing to get up before the sun even begins to show itself.

Less than 3 months!

Hello all!

I’ve started this blog because I will be studying abroad in Granada, Spain for 8 months and want to keep people from home updated on what’s going on in my life! I have about 3 months until I hop on a plane and head over to Madrid for our API orientation before we head to Granada. I’m very excited right now and starting to get nervous. I still cannot believe that I’ll be spending my entire junior year in a foreign country! Right now, I’m getting my visa stuff together and working my tush off to make some moo-lah to take over with me so I can go gallivanting throughout Granada and Spain and Europe in general (so exciting!)

I might be posting a few times before I go about the daunting task of packing and in general getting pumped for an amazing 8 month adventure!

Until then,

Katie
